Reiki
Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a calming Japanese energy healing technique designed to restore balance to your body, mind, and spirit. It harnesses universal life force energy — the gentle, intelligent energy present in all living things — to clear blockages, relieve tension, and promote deep relaxation. Reiki is non-invasive, safe for all ages, and supports your body’s natural healing abilities.
A Brief History
Reiki was created by Mikao Usui in Japan in the early 1900s. The word Reiki combines two Japanese characters:
Rei — meaning universal or spiritual
Ki — meaning life force energy
Today, Reiki is practiced worldwide as a holistic approach to enhancing physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being.
What to Expect in a Session
When you arrive, we’ll take a moment to connect and set an intention. You’ll lie comfortably, fully clothed, on a massage table and simply relax with your eyes closed. I’ll gently place my hands on or just above your body, channeling this energy. Many people feel sensations like warmth, tingling, waves of calm, or even see colours or images. Some simply experience a deep sense of peace. Each session is uniquely attuned to your body’s needs. Afterward, you’ll be invited to enjoy cacao or a cup of tea and have time to integrate the experience.
How Reiki Works
Reiki channels high-vibration energy that naturally flows to where it’s needed most, helping to:
Clear stagnant or heavy energy
Balance your energy centers (chakras)
Release emotional or energetic blocks
Support your body’s self-healing
Though gentle, Reiki often creates profound shifts, leaving you feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to yourself.
